Lakeysha W. Singleton

I was born and raised in rural Lincoln County. The middle child of five children, I was raised in a single parent house hold with the full support of my grandparents. I moved to Danville when I was in the seventh grade and enrolled in Bate Middle School and went on to become a graduate of Danville High School.

I completed my undergraduate education at Midway College before attending the University of Kentucky College of Law.

Prior to opening my private law practice, I served as a Staff Attorney to the Hon. Samuel Todd Spalding, Chief Circuit Judge of the 11th Judicial Circuit, Staff Attorney to Carol Jordan, Executive Director of the University of Kentucky’s Office for Policy Studies on Violence Against Women (OPSVAW), and Staff Attorney with the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy as a public defender. In addition, I am passionate about my work with GreenHouse17, a nonprofit organization committed to ending domestic violence in families and the community.

As District Court judge, I will be a strong advocate for fairness, transparency, and accountability in our judicial system.
